The Animal Drawing Crash-Course meets August 8-11, 2005, from 6-10 pm in room 119 on the Fullerton College campus. Here's the material we will cover:
¥ Mon, August 8: COMPARATIVE TORSO ANATOMY. Special Form Studies of Horses.
¥ Tues, August 9: COMPARATIVE HINDLEG ANATOMY. Special Form Studies of Big Cats.
¥ Wed, August 10: COMPARATIVE FORELEG ANATOMY. Special Form Studies of Deer & Cattle.
¥ Thurs, August 11: NECK & HEAD ANATOMY. Form Studies of Miscellaneous Animals.
This is a concentrated course focusing on Anatomy, Form & Gesture - the three essentials for mastery. I taught Animal Drawing at Cal State Fullerton and Laguna College for a total of nine semesters. In 2000, I retired and boiled down the best of those semesters into this four-session crash-course. I will show you how animal skeletons affect their fleshed forms, and how to draw them in any position from imagination and with authority.
This is not a Fullerton curriculum course and you don't receive college credit for it. It is a high intensity crash-course designed to supplement your drawing education.
We will start right at 6pm, so I recommend that you get there plenty early to park and find the room. The evenings will be packed with instruction, so be prepared to learn.
Bring a sketchpad and a mechanical pencil or a pen that you enjoy using - no charcoal or anything that leaves dust or shavings.
